the matches

Allie, my amazing friend from high school, came down to visit for her birthday this weekend. Bizarrely, we were wearing very similar outfits on her first day here. Passers-by must have thought we were wearing some sort of uniform.

J. Crew tank, Banana Republic skirt, Rainbow sandals, UO sunglasses, Betsey Johnson bag

Hollister dress (worn as top), Banana Republic skirt, Rainbow sandals, knockoff Bottega Veneta bag, Louis Vuitton sunglasses

Keeping in the vein, we tried on matching Miss America pageant dresses.

They were only $3.99 each, so I bought the purple one. You know, just in case I am ever in the running towards becoming Miss America.

Miss you Allie! Can't wait to see you again!

big girl

Last Tuesday was a fabulous day. It was my birthday! I opted not to have a big celebration because I was exhausted from a full day of class. Also, who goes out on a Tuesday. I was surprised with a delicious sushi dinner and a huge chocolate chip cookie, though! My friends are great.

J. Crew blouse, Wet Seal leggings, M by MJ bag and shoes

No pictures in the actual sushi restaurant because it had super-romantic lighting (read: it was hella dark in there).

I got some cute gifts that you'll be seeing soon. Of course, being myself, I bought half of them on my own... Among other things, I can't wait to debut my new crocheted vest and knit cap. I guess I'm really feeling cozy pieces this year.

ladylike

This skirt is going to be popping up in a ton of my outfits this fall. It's made of a sweatshirt fleece material, and it has the most perfect circle cut. If I spin in circles really fast, it opens up like a flower. Sometimes I like to dress like a girl.

Oaklandish shirt, Norma Kamali vintage skirt, M by MJ flats

I really liked this outfit. I forgot to take a picture of the back of the shirt, but it has a scoop back. It makes for good air conditioning, hahaha.

I haven't been very consistent with the blog lately... Though I've been taking pictures and documenting outfits, I seem to not have the time to actually post. I'm lame.

party animals

It was nice to get off campus this weekend. I went out with some friends on Friday night, and yesterday was a shopping and sushi day.

Friday night I cut up an old tee to make the following outfit. I didn't think it was that cute with jeans, but it was too cold for a skirt that night.

Nordstrom men's V-neck (customized), Dolce & Gabbana vintage tank, Ruehl jeans, Rainbows (not pictured)

It's really no good to wear anything really nice to a college party, in my opinion. There's too great a risk to shoes because of all the beer spilled on the floor. I wore my Rainbows because they can withstand the damage.

We nabbed some Swedish Fish and Sour Patch Kids from one of the houses we went to. Yummmm.

mad scientist

I had my first real Chemistry lab today. We didn't even play with chemicals or anything, but we were required to wear our coats and goggles, plus long pants and closed-toe shoes. I wouldn't have had a problem with that, except that it was, oh, 97 degrees outside. I wore my trusty AA dress before class, and had a little wardrobe change.

AA dress (worn as top), abercrombie jeans, Moda Enrico flats, J. Crew headband

Some of the other girls in my class had better fitting lab coats. They were more nipped in at the waist. I think they bought them from the scrubs store off campus.

If I'm a Comm major, why am I taking Chem lab? Search me.
