anglophilia

I'm a total foodie, so it was really really great to get home for Thanksgiving. On the actual day I didn't eat as much as I would have liked... I think I got a little motion sick from playing too much Guitar Hero with my cousins, haha! I dominated, though.

Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera home with me! I don't have a decent photo of myself in my holiday outfit, so I might have to put it on again to document it.

I was at the mall for EIGHT HOURS on Black Friday, but I didn't come home with that many bags. I don't feel that it was a bad shopping year; it was just that nothing was to die for. I got a couple items that I'd love to model for you, but I'll save them for a day with better photo quality.

Today I went back to the same shopping area to get a couple more price adjustments and sift through what was left of the good deals. I got a chance to break out this denim jacket that's been hiding in my closet for years.

Topshop jacket, Nordstrom men's V-neck, AA leggings

I got it from Topshop in 2003, but I can only recall wearing it about three times. It's not the most comfortable jacket in the world, but it's so fun to wear.

weather or not

The forecast said LA would be experiencing at least some showers today. I only felt three raindrops the whole day, so I felt kind of silly in my rainboots.

If and when the rain comes, I hope it doesn't delay my flight home for Thanksgiving! I'm totally ready to pig out.

If only they were leather. And I had $1395.

something new

I'm trying out some different photography styles in this post. I really liked how the first photo (accidentally) turned out, so I decided to document my whole outfit this way.

I know people make counterfeit designer goods, but who copies American Apparel stuff? Apparently, Kirra does. I've seen the slim denim skirt and double U-neck dress at H&M, too. I'm not complaining.

Abercrombie & Fitch tank, Kirra skirt, Nine West flats

I warmed up this outfit for the evening with black tights and a big white scarf.

I bought these flats a while ago as a birthday present for myself... I couldn't decide whether I should keep them or not, but the thirty day return period passed and now I'm stuck with them. I'm glad, though. They're actually really comfortable, like little pillows are under my feet! They're gentle on my sad, beat-up heels, too.

the messenger

One of my friends is a History major, and we threw him a themed surprise birthday party. We all dressed as historical figures, and I was Joan of Arc.

I drew inspiration from a WWI-era advertisement... Historical, no?

A peplummed jacket served as my armor. I want to further incorporate this into my everyday wardrobe.

vintage Norma Kamali jacket, AA dress, J. Crew headband

My boyfriend was a painter... He was supposed to be Van Gogh, but we were in such a rush to get to the party that we forgot to put band-aids on his ear, haha. Also, Van Gogh is Dutch, not French, so the beret is not appropriate. Perhaps he's actually Delacroix? Well, we tried.

it comes and goes

I wore this outfit a couple of days ago when it seemed like Los Angeles was finally getting a taste of fall. It was, you know, a freezing 65 degrees or so. I'm really spoiled.

J. Crew henley, Ruehl jeans, M by MJ bag and shoes, gifted beret

The beret in this outfit was a gift from my boyfriend. Lately I'm obsessed with hats of all sorts. I've acquired so many this past quarter because I have early morning classes. Those days I wear hats because I can't sacrifice sleep for a shower. Unfortunately, this means that my hair always looks awful. I need a haircut very badly, too.

Unfortunately, today's high was 88 degrees again, so I'm back to wearing the summer lovelies. That is, V-neck tees and short shorts. Boring.

It's hard for me to make an effort with my outfits when I'm in college and all I do is study. I'm really jealous of the first years that get to chill all the time.

double-0-ween

I didn't do much this Halloween except walk around at night in stilettos. I dressed up as a Bond girl, which is a departure from my usual Halloween style. In the past, I've been a UPS delivery woman, a painter, and a flight attendant.

I borrowed the gun from a friend; it's a broken air soft gun. The tip was red, but he painted it black to use it as a movie prop. I didn't run into any trouble with it, thank goodness.

Smack slip, BCBG Maxazria heels, Target wristlet

I completed the look with a fake beauty mark, but it's on the other side of my face.

Let's be honest; I just wanted to buy this slip, and the holiday was the perfect excuse. The straps are removable. I plan to wear it again as a bustier top tucked into some black skinny jeans.

Apologies for the low-quality photo... It was dark.
